About Blue Eye Albania

An independent guide to Syri i Kaltër, the karst spring at Muzinë in southern Albania. We check the gate fees in person, read every tour listing against what happens on the ground, and publish the gap. Start with the tours on the homepage.

Why we built this site

Search the Blue Eye and you get a wall of drone photographs and one recycled sentence about a hidden gem. What you rarely get is the number the attendant asks for at the barrier, the fact that the train up stops running in October, or that the swimming everyone pictures has been over for a while now and guards enforce it.

So we put the practical parts in one place: what entry and parking cost this season, how far you walk, when the light makes the water blue, and which of the nine tours from Saranda, Ksamil and Tirana actually includes the train ticket.

How we choose the tours

We do not list everything sold with the Blue Eye in its title. A tour appears here when it meets all of this:

A licensed operator with enough verified reviews for the rating to mean something
A rating of 4.5 or better across those reviews
Inclusions written plainly, including whether the panoramic train and the site entry are covered
Free cancellation, so a grey forecast the night before does not cost you the money

How we keep it current

Tour prices here were read from the operators' own GetYourGuide pages in August 2026. Site fees were checked the same month against what visitors reported paying that season, and where sources disagree, which they do on parking, we publish the range instead of picking a number that suits the sentence.

Opening hours in winter and the tourist train timetable both move without announcement. When they change, this page changes.

How we make money

About the author

Grew up an hour from the spring and has driven the Muzinë road in every month of the year, including the December afternoons when the gate shuts before you reach the platform. Checks the fees at the barrier in person each season, because the parking price on every blog is a different number and none of them takes cash off you at the gate.
